Maditssia’s AYUSH 2006, An Exposition on Traditional Medicines was  held between  December 22-25, 2006   at MADITSSIA Hall, Madurai.  This fair was conducted in association with Central Research Institute for Siddha (CRIS) Govt. of India, Chennai, All India Ayurvedic  Congress, Madurai Unit, Tamil Nadu Siru Thozhil Siddha Marunthu Urpathiyalargal Sangam, Indian Medicine & Herbal Promoters Organisation, Siddha, Ayurveda and Unani Medical Practitioners Central Welfare Association, Madurai Siddha Vaidhya Sangam, Kollimalai Siddha Ashram.
 
40 Stalls were put up in the fair.  Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Homeo Medical Practitioners Medicine Manufactures, Service Providers from all over Tamilnadu and Kerala took part in the exhibition.  Exhibition timings were 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. About 40,000 visitors visited the fair.

 

Inaugural Function:

On 22nd December fair was inaugurated at 11.30 a.m. by Honble Minister K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran. Mr. T. Udayachandran I.A.S. District Collector of Madurai felicitated the function.  Trade Directory of Ayush 2006 fair was released  by Shri. T. Udhayachandran, I.A.S.,District Collector and received by  Shri. K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, Honourable Minister for Health.

In coherent with the fair many seminars were conducted. Seminar topics were much appreciated and welcomed by the public and many people participated in the seminars. Seminars were conducted at free of cost and was attended by many entrepreneurs, women and medical people.  About 100-150 participants were enrolled in each seminars. 

 

Contest:

Aim of this fair is to create awareness in the people on siddha, Ayurveda, Unani, Medical fields.  To achieve this aim many contests  were conducted.

  1. Poster presentation for school children
  2. Quiz competition for college students
  3. Healthy Baby Contest for Children
  4. Healthy Hair Contest for women

were also conducted.  There was overwhelming welcome from all.  More than 300 herbs were displayed with its botanical name and medicinal usage.  “Siddhar Ulagam” a display, how siddha medicines are prepared was also arranged.  It was very informative. 

 

Free Medical Camp:

Free Medical Camp was arranged on all the three days.  More than 5000 people visited the camp and benefited.  Medicine worth 3 lakhs were given to the patients those visited the medical camp.

Stall holders of this fair had arranged to give free medicines to the visitors for those who were affected by “Chikkun Gunia” All the visitors of the fair  appreciated and benefited. 

 

Valedictory Function:

On 25th December evening 6.30 p.m. the valedictory function was held.  The chief guest of this function was Mr. P. Mohan, Member of Parliament, Madurai.

The entire show was lead by Dr. V. Kalidoss, Chairman, MADITSSIA’s Ayush 2006 and his Dynamic team of 20 doctors and MADITSSIA’s members have put great efforts to bring in success to the exhibition

 

MADITSSIA’s 23rd All India
Ideal Home Exhibition

8-18 February 2007, Tamukkam Grounds, Madurai



MADITSSIA’s 23rd All India Ideal Home Exhibition was held between February 8-18’ 2007 at Tamukkam Grounds, Madurai. The fair was conducted in association with AIMO (All India Manufacturers Organisation) 225 Stalls were put up in the fair.

The product Display includes Electrical, Electronics, Home Appliances, Consumer Durables, Textile & Readymade Garments, Food products, Computers, Health Equipment, Pharmaceutical Products, Health care items, Furniture, Handloom, Fancy toys, Beverages, Ice-creams, etc. from all over Tamilnadu took part in the exhibition. Exhibition timings were 11.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. during Saturday & Sunday and weekly days daily in the evening 4 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.


Inaugural Function


On February 8th’ 2007 fair was inaugurated by Shri.Udayachandran, I.A.S., District Collector, Madurai and Felicitated by Shri.N.R. Subramania Raja, Past Chairman, AIMO and Regional Director, KVIC, Madurai Shri. Nayak.

 

Highlights of the fair


In coherent with the fair, pride of Madurai, a Hall of products produced in Madurai were displayed. The leading brands produced by the Industrial Houres in Madurai were displayed in the Hall and inaugurated by Shri.D.J.Dinakaran, Commissioner, Madurai Corporation.

  1. A newly constructed A/c (Air Conditioned) Hanger for the first time in Madurai.
  2. Display of Fishes and various birds were displayed and best selected for Awards
  3. Kodai FM Broadcasted programmes from the Venue during Evening 7.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. Daily
  4. Daily Chief guests were invited to visit the fair from various Government Department and leading Industries.
  5. Book fair – A separate Bay for the Readers of Books created and attracted the crowd at large.
  6. Theme of the Exhibition – A separate Display constructed to depict the Activities of Rotary Club – Polio, Blood Donation Camp, etc.
  7. Over 5 lakh visitors were visited the fair during the 11 days.
  8. Daily Entertainment Programmes by School Students attracted the visitors.
  9. Wide publicity through visual media, local cable TV, Newspapers, Hoardings, Auto & Bus Hoardings created interest among the public to visit the fair.
  10. The consumer fair not only reached the general public but also created a platform to display various new products and reached the common man.
  11. An award committee was formed and selected the Best Stall Award among the participants and the best stall award distributed during the valedictory function of the Exhibition.
  12. Maditssia in association with Lions Club organised a Essay Writing Competition for College Students about the “Development of Madurai” and Awarded prizes to the winners of the competition.
  13. The Valedictory function of the Exhibition held on 18th February 2007. The chief guest of the function Smt.Thenmozhi Gobination, Worshipful Mayor, Madurai, ZDH Sequa Project Manager Mr. Albert Over, Mr.Ferdinand Fuchs, Kodai FM Director, Mr. Maha Somas Kandamoorthy. Thus the fair February Fiesta ended in a successful manner.

 

Print-n-Pack 2007
Printing & Packaging Fair

held on 23-26 August 2007


Print-n-Pack 2007, an Industrial Fair, was organised by MADITSSIA during 23rd-26th August 2007 at Tamukkam Grounds, Madurai.  This fair is sixth of its kind.  95 Stalls were on display.  Participants are manufacturers, dealers of various machineries of Printing and Packaging field.  To mention a few machines under display were Autoprint UV Coating machines, well binding machines, Lamination machines, Flexo Printing, Cup making machineries etc.

The fair was inaugurated on 23.8.2007.Mr.P.T.Krishnamoorthy, President, MADITSSIA, presided the function. Shri.N.Sadasivam, Deputy General Manager, State Bank of India, inaugurated the fair by lighting kuthuvilakku and delivered the inaugural address.

On 24 & 25th of August in coherent with the Fair, a Seminar on Computer Graphics was conducted.  The faculties explained the new state of art of developments in the graphics. 200 number of participants were benefited.  They acquired a fine knowledge by this seminar.

On all the four days business visitors were allowed to visit the fair from 11.00 a.m to 3.00 p.m. and the general people visiting hours were 3.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. Business Visitors were benefited by the displays and demos of the stall holders.  Stall holders fruitful enquiries and business too.  About 4 Crore business were done on the four days.  On the spot business loans were arranged by the State Bank of India Stall.

Fair came to an end by the valedictory function held on 26th August 2007.  The Function was presided by Mr.P.T.Krishnnamoorthy, President, MADITSSIA. Mr.RM.Lakshmi narayanan, Chairman of Print-n-Pack 2007, gave a report on the Fair. Mr. P. Mohan, Member of Parliament, Mr. Murali, The Regional Manager, The Hindu delivered the Valedictory Address.

The winners of Best Print Award contests were honoured in the valedictory function. 54 Award winners of Various Categories received their awards in this function.

Thus, Print-n-Pack fair has added one more feather to the success of Maditssia.

 

World Bread Day Celebrations
Bread Exhibition

 


MADITSSIA, Tamilnadu Bakery Federation and Madurai Bakers Association was jointly organised World Bread Day Celebrations during October 7-8' 2007 at Maditssia Hall, Madurai. During the Celebrations a Mini Exhibition containing Machinery Manufacturer Display, Raw Material Supplier and thanking the Tamilnadu Government for VAT Relief for Baker Products.

On 7th Oct' 2007, Bread Exhibition Display by various catering college students. The Bread Exhibition was inaugurated by worshipful major Ms. Thenmozhi Gopinathan Madurai Corporation. The various Bread Based Products were displayed in the Display Competition. The judges evaluated the Bread Based Display products by the catering college students and Awarded the Ranks for the Best Display.

A demonstration by Mr. Venkata Prakash, Anabalayam on the Bread Based Products for the House Wives was organised. More than 75 House Wives has participated in the program and get benefited.

 

Mini Exhibition


For the benefit of Bakers, Young entrepreneurs, a Mini Exhibition was organised in which the Machinery Manufactures, Bakery Raw Material Suppliers had displayed their products. The Exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. M.S.Shah, Chairman Anna Fathima Institute of catering administration more than 25 stalls were displayed in the Exhibition.

 

Sale of Bread at a Concessional Rate


The Bread Display & Mini Exhibition which is very useful to the visiting public at large. In order to create awareness about bread products sale of bread at a concessional Rate of Rs. 5/- was sold and Jam for sales at Rs. 6/-

 

World Bread Day Celebration


On 8th Oct' 2007 World Bread Day Celebrations was organised and presided by Mr. S. Anburajan President, Tamilnadu Bakers Federation. In his presidential address he thanked the Tamilnadu Govt. and Honourable State Minister for commercial taxes for offered the VAT relief for Bakery Products. More 20,000 visitors visited the Bread Exhibition Display. Mr. S.N.M. Ubayadulla, State Minister for Commercial Taxes is his Keynote address, Due to the VAT implementation 19% of the revenue loss occurred every year. The bread and bun are manufactured from the same raw material. The tax relief for bread willl also extended to the bun which was consumed by the downtrodden people at large. The same tax relief for Bun which was demanded by the Bakers. The same matter will be discussed in the meeting of VAT Task Force implementation committee, which meeting was organised prior to the Budget Meeting every year.

In the same manner, the branded and unbranded products tax structure will also taken into consideration.

The government reduced the tax structure and the business people and Trades will have to increase the sales and also increase the payment of tax.

Tamilnadu Chamber of Commerce president Mr. S. Rathinavel released the Souvenir and the first copy of the Souvenir received by Tamilnadu Bakers Federation Vice President Mr. Chinnappa. The Prizes for the participants of the Bread Display competition were given. Earlier, President, MADITSSIA Mr. P.T. Krishnamoorthy welcomed the gathering. Madurai Bakers Association President Mr. P. Mohana Sundaram addressed on the World Bread Day why it is celebrated all over the World. Tamilnadu Bakers Federation Hon. Secretary Mr. G. Muralidharan proposed the vote of thanks Bakers from all parts of Tamilnadu were participated in the Two days celebrations.
